1ST Quarter_Week 3_ Discussion 2

Personal comment: No matter how much communication breakdown persists, people will always find a way to resolve it.

Can you recall an experience in your life where you experienced communication breakdown? What happened and why did the breakdown occur? (answer in not less than 5 sentences).

My sister and I visited Sta. Rosa for a family reunion on my mother's side. My mother never really taught us the dialects there so we can only understand Tagalog and English. My mother's side has a pretty diverse language with all of them being trilingual (at the very least). We can't really catch up to most conversations because we can't understand the jargons and language that they're using most of the time. Their culture and attitude are much more straightforward and blunt compared to what I was used to. But it was still a very fun experience. They're so open with each other and are very patient when it comes to explaining some of the terms they use to us. It was just frustrating that I can't get some of their jokes because I still need a translator.
